Tier 2: New Team Training
This three-day Tier 2 New Team Training is designed to help school teams (administrator and intervention coordinators*) develop their capacity to provide Tier 2 supports. Using the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) as an anchor, participants will understand and begin to develop effective and efficient Tier 2 team processes that use a data-informed decision-making system to identify groups of students in need of Tier 2 supports and assess the fidelity of interventions/supports provided.
Specifically, teams will develop an understanding of the critical features of Check-In-Check Out (CICO) and will be given support in developing their school CICO system referral processes, daily progress reports, acknowledgement systems, plans for monitoring progress and assessing fidelity of implementation.
Tier 2: Experienced Team Training
This two-day Experienced Team Training is designed to help school teams* expand their capacity to provide Tier 2 supports. Using the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (TFI) and The Academic Tiered Fidelity Inventory, school teams will consider critical features of Tier 2 interventions, and explore academic and behavior interventions matched to instructional need and/or function of behavior; the systems necessary for supporting Tier 2 interventions and increased family engagement; and the data they can use to assess student outcomes and intervention fidelity.
*More information about Tier 2 team membership can be found using our VoiceThread video or the transcript for the Advanced Tiers Forum VoiceThread .
